Last day of classes! Woot!!!!!!!

I turned in my last research paper for the semester (Hopefully for the rest of the school year), and received my last two assignments for the weekend. A take-home test/programming project, and a two page paper on arguments of fallacy. I only have two tests, one for Artificial Intelligence, which is just discussing Neural Networks and Expert Systems, so that shouldn't be a problem. The American Lit. test will be extremely annoying, just because it's a bluebook test, but it is open book. As long as I can remember to include quotes from the readings I should be fine; cause nothing says you've learned the reading than quoting random stories.

On a side note, I have a new blog-type thing. I got bored and joined tumblr. So you can see it HERE. It will be also where I will be keeping track of my progress on the great Pokemon-Minecraft-Project. I'm currently on day 6.

So, I haven't posted in a long time. But a lot has happened. Not all of it I want to post, since I would much rather it all just stay in the past. So..

I'm coming up on my first couple tests, writing my first couple papers, hopefully I can keep up enough to watch some Lord of the Rings this weekend. I haven't seen it in forever, so I really want to watch it again.

I started transposing my comics onto my computer tonight, I've been taking over the white-boards on my floor to draw them, but I've kind of gotten tired of them disappearing forever whenever I draw new ones.

I realized once I started making them on my computer, that I should have a name for my comics, so I decided on Paradox Alternative, or Alternative Paradox. Depending on how you read it :P

The title makes no sense if you think about it, but then again, neither do my comics.

So I ended up getting a new Xbox with Kinect, and needless to say, it's a lot of fun. I can't say I was expecting too much, I figured it would be kind of cheesy, and meant to be like a ripoff of the Wii. But it is much more than I expected.

The voice and motion control is awesome. I can be lazier than ever now :P

I was expecting some lag in the game, but there really isn't any noticeable lag that I can tell, at least not when playing it. The games are fun, and accurate. I especially enjoy dance central, which seems to be like guitar hero, except with dancing. The thing I enjoy most, is how it takes random pictures during the games, and shows them to you after you play the funny poses and faces it caught you in. Dance Central also has parts when you can freestyle dance, and it takes pictures while you dance, and puts them together in a stop motion video.

So, things are getting better. I'm still feeling a bit stressed out, but not in such a bad way. Wait, okay well it's still not good stress, but I can deal with it now I think.

In other news, I have a ghostbusters outfit! :D

It even has the backpack! It's an inflatable backpack, but it's still pretty cool looking. I think I will have to go on a run today with Nick, of course he will have to be dressed up as a ghost.. haha :P

I've been in the mood to do something really crazy lately, I've been trying to think what I could do, and so far it seems like my options are:

✔ Put on my ghostbusters outfit, have Nick dress up as a ghost, and run around campus. [Sounds like a good idea] <- Did that and it was awesome! :D

✔Get a fake spiderweb, and a giant fake spider, and set up a spiderweb in the arch with the spider in the middle of the web. [Will have to do late at night, I don't know campus security's feelings on something like this] <- First night after break was too windy, but got it up for Friday :D

~~Set up a bunch of fake tombstones on the forum lawn to turn it into a graveyard. [Too expensive]~~

~~TP the arch [I think campus security would be against that more than the spider, and I don't know if I can throw that high up. Okay I know I can't]~~

Get glow in the dark paint and paint tennis balls to play glow in the dark lawn golf.

So I don't know what it is about this week in particular, but I've been thinking way too much. It's kind of depressing actually. I don't really start off think about anything in particular, my mind just sort of wanders and takes me places I don't want to go.

I've thought about everything there is to think about already, and it's only Wednesday.

I've thought about what I'm going to do with my life, my job, where I've been, where I'm at, and where I'm going.

Last Friday I went the career symposium, where a group of BV alumni came to share what they're doing right now in the field of computer science. It was interesting, and made me think more about what I plan on doing later.

I dunno, it's been a really depressing week,and I'm ready for it to be over. I need to stop thinking..

I've pretty much spent this whole weekend reading; and I'm not even close to being done yet. I took a break last night to go to casino night, but then it was pretty much back to work.

Bleah..

I'm moving back into Grand on Tuesday. Not that I'm not looking forward to moving into a bigger room. But I really don't want to go through the whole moving process. Especially since it's across the street and up 3 floors. I'll most likely borrow the cart from 2Fix to move everything faster.

The University is getting rid of some old mattresses and getting new ones. The business office is offering it as a fundraiser to clubs, so I'm going to help out with that to see if I can't earn some money for the OAC.

School starts in a few weeks. I've been saving as much money as possible, but I'm pretty sure all of it will disappear once I buy books :6

I was wondering why the lights in the Forum were flickering, then I finally got the idea to look outside to see if it was raining outside, and it totally is. lol shows what I notice when I'm zoning out at work :P

I was going to go water the sod at "Beaver Beach" after work too.. Oh well. Guess that job got easier :D I guess there are some trees falling over and broken branches and stuff though..

Oh well, I'm kind've stuck at 2Fix right now.. Have a good night everyone.

As much as I don't like Sodexho's food. I miss the variety.. and Ice Cream.. Feeding myself is no fun, because I can't be lazy and not do it or I'll get hungry.

Oh well, Life goes on whether I follow or not I suppose.

Gamestop keeps letting me down, dare I say I might start shopping in the electronics section at Walmart? *Gasp* I might.

Summer went by too fast, I didn't make nearly enough money, I think that as much as I enjoy living on campus and staying with friends here, I might have to think about working somewhere in Clear Lake/Mason City next summer so that I can actually make some decent wages.

So E3 is pretty much over, aside from a few new video game previews being slowly released.

Main Happenings:

Also revealed was Kinect for the Xbox 360 (Previously code-named Project Natal):

It's based on an add on peripheral device [seen here] that has a set of three video cameras to track the movements of up to four people at a time, and is able to tell each player apart, and according to some sources (I'm not entirely sure about their reliability, or what they mean by this) can recognize individual fingertips?..

Sony

Sony revealed their project in competition with Xbox Kinect, named Playstation Move [Seen Here].

It includes a camera and motion sensing controllers. The camera tracks your movements, while the motion controllers allow you to take control of objects in the game.

Nintendo

Nintendo didn't seem to make an impact this E3. After unveiling the Wii it seems they've been unable to catch attention. The most notable releases were Epic Mickey, and a new Zelda game. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

...Well those seem to be the main things that were unveiled during E3, along with many new video game trailers which can be found here.

So... yeah.

Nothing happening really, got back from camping, I guess the tornado that went through the area was only 10-15 miles away from where we were camping. It just seemed like a strong thunderstorm to me...

I'm on my week vacation right now, heading back to BVU on Tuesday, at least it'll give me something to do.

Well.. I got nothing.. I will try to post something another time. I'd say that I will post when something happens, but that would be never.. Have a good Father's Day everybody.

Not much to say.. Just that school is almost over.

I have finals every day this week except for Wednesday, Two in the evening on Monday, One at 8am on Tuesday and another in the afternoon, and the last one at 8am on Thursday.

Its gonna be fun...

After finals, I get to stay on campus for the weekend until everyone moves out of the buildings, then I get to move to my room in Swope. I was lucky enough to get stuck with one of the smaller rooms :\

I guess that's what happens when you fill out paperwork early..

But I should be able to make it work, I'll just have to arrange it right, and I don't have a roommate to worry about, so it'll be just all my junk.. I kinda want to throw out the printer, cause I won't be needing it during the summer, and I don't want to take care of it.. eh I'll figure something out.

gotta go shopping this weekend, I need some food [and boxes to move across the street :P]

Yeah, not much to say.. There's a week left of school, one more weekend till finals, then working all summer..

Last weekend was pretty good, went up to Lanesboro, biked up there for a bit, then ended with a cheeseburger eating competition. The next morning we visited Mystery Cave, it was pretty cool, I wish we could've gone without a guide, but it was still okay. Saw an underground lake and stuff.

I dunno, that's about it, I'm trying to find ways to let off steam so I don't go crazy this last week here. Don't know how well that's working out but still.. We'll just have to wait and see I guess..

Well I gotta go to class, have a good week, I'll try to post more later.

Well the boat race went great. We won 2 prizes! The Gargantuan [for the biggest boat] and the Pride of the fleet [for the best design]. Each prize came with $20 gift certificates to Pizza Hut, and a paddle. So we brought the paddles to hang in the OAC den, and had a pizza party that night.

So not much going on here. Buenification day is Tuesday. The boat float was postponed from Saturday till Tuesday night. Which works okay I guess.. That'll give us time to spraypaint our boat and put it together. Once it's done I'll get pics up somewhere, hopefully.

Only a few weeks of classes left, which is about time. I'm really getting tired of classes, and all the drama that's been going on this semester. There's been a lot of really good things that have happened this semester, but I'm not sure they're good enough to cancel out the crap.

But whatever, it'll be over when school gets out, and then I'll be able to take my mind off of all of it a lot easier I hope.

I got June 16th through the 27th off work for vacation, so I'll be able to go on the St. Croix trip this year. I'll also have a few days on the weekend of the 10th, so I can go to the Concert in Minnesota.

Other than that I'll pretty much be living my life in Storm Lake, It's pretty much home to me already. I haven't been home much except for Xmas break, and I'm going to be living on campus for the summer until classes start again next semester. I'll just be switching buildings for when I live in the summer and in the school year.

I've also got to decide sometime if I'm going on a trip next J-Term. There's a trip to Europe with Blodgett, or a trip to South Africa with Kirkholm. Both cost the same amount of money to go. Either way, I need to get a new camera, cause when I went to Texas, I found out my camera had gotten clogged up with dirt and grime from taking it camping so much, the lens refuses to open. I tried cleaning it a bit, but since it's just a point-and-shoot camera, there really isn't a good way to take it apart without breaking it open. I might take a closer look at it sometime, but who knows.

Well that's about it for now, I might try to get some sleep, so maybe I can put up with classes tomorrow a bit.

Well, I'm back on campus again..

We got back at about 7am today, cleaned out the van, unloaded everything, etc. so I spent most of the day unpacking, getting some actual sleep, etc.

We left at about 1pm on Friday, and started heading down south. We stopped at a Carlos O'Kelly's in Wichita for supper, then kept driving until morning, when we stopped at an iHop for breakfast.

We got down to big bend in time to set up camp in what was called the basin, because there is a ring of mountains around it, separating it from the desert. Then we went to hike along the Rio Grande. Followed by a visit to a hot spring, which was really nice. It was basically a natural hot tub, and there was a spot where you could sit where the hot water from the spring would mix with the cold water in the Rio Grande, it was pretty awesome.

The next day we went hiking along some canyons, including the Santa Elana canyon, which was amazing, one of the canyons we hiked in, you could look up and see the top, and it was 500 feet above you. Then we went to see a waterfall, there wasn't much water because the area was kind of dry. but it was still cool because you could see the transition between the desert, and where the water fed the greener plants.

The next morning we hiked up to what was called the window, it's a spot in the mountain where the water runs off, it was different, because we went from the basin, up into the mountain area, and since there was running water it crated somewhat of a canyon-like feel, and at the end it was a drop off out into the desert.

That afternoon we went to another spring called Aqua Fria, and like the name, the water was freezing. We jumped off a small cliff(about 10-15 feet) into the water.

For supper that night we went to the ghost town; Terlingua, and ate at the Starlight Theatre. I tried the Diego Burger, which is 1lbs of beef, fried eggs, bacon, jalapeno peppers, etc. all between two buns(which was pretty much a whole loaf of bread). I finished almost the whole thing, I ate all the fries, and all of thee burger except half of a regular burger. After a while the jalapeno peppers started to get to me, and since we had the drive back, and the hike the next day, I didn't feel like making myself finish it.

Which turned out to be a good idea, because then next morning we woke up early, and hike up to Emery Peak, which was about a 3 mile hike, all uphill. Once at the top, the view was awesome, and we went to check out the area of the trail we were going to be working on.

So the next two days we worked on the trail right after breakfast, and then went back to camp at 5pm for dinner. Then on Friday we went up to work until noon, then hiked down the mountain back to the basin.

After cleaning up, and packing, we went to camp along the Rio Grande, grilling burgers and making s'mores. We slept under the stars, then headed out to get back on the road.

We stopped at Oklahoma again to stop by Turner Falls, we looked around for a bit, and went wading at the top of the falls. Then we ate supper at a place called Smokin' Joe's, which had amazing bbq. After eating, we got back on the road back to BVU.

Well, that's about it, I'm back in my room, catching up on everything. Not liking that it's over so fast. But I guess there's nothing more to do.

On another note, I got an email about the positions at 2Fix during the summer, and they're all filled, which wasn't surprising, since there were only 5 spots available, and almost every one of the older techs are going to be seniors next year, they get seniority. So I guess I'll be going home for the summer, looking for a job..

So I found the most confusingly hilarious movie ever. It's called Jesus Christ Vampire Slayer. It's a full 88 minutes of cheesy acting, fighting, and other stuff. I say other stuff, because I was lost at the beginning of the movie, and just kept getting lost the longer the movie went on. It was ridiculous.

There were cheesy fight scenes, corny chorus lines, transvestites, lesbians, and oh yeah... Vampires.

And some professional wrestler guy, but no one knows where he came in, he just kind of appeared out of nowhere...

well that's about for this morning, time to go get some breakfast.

I got hooked on cheesy, "So bad they're good", movies. I decided to trade my gamefly account for a netflix account.

I spent the whole weekend watching movies. It was awesome!

Movie review time!

If you ever have the chance to watch The Toxic Avenger it is the most ridiculous movie ever, and it's hilarious. The second one is ok, the third one isn't bad, but don't even bother with the fourth one, it's bad.

Tooth and Nail is actually a pretty good horror film. It's about a group of people trying to survive after an apocalypse, and there are cannibals with battle axes. It is awesome.

Nature's Grave is actually pretty good too. It's about a guy who goes camping with his wife, and starts disrespecting mother nature. So she fights back. The best part of the movie is when there's a dead manatee on the beach, and every day it gets a little bit further up the beach, until he wakes up in the morning and there's a dead manatee at his feet.

How to be a serial killer, and Pineapple express are pretty good comedy films. How to be a serial killer is kind of sadistic, but in a funny way, and Pineapple Express is about weed :P

The land that time forgot is pretty good, but the cgi is so horribly done, it's impossible to take it seriously.

Contrary to the title Nymphoid Barbarian in Dinosaur Hell, It really doesn't have much to do with sex, so much as stop-motion dinosaurs. It seems they had a very small budget when they made this film, because there is a whole bunch of creatures, that look like they're made completely out of burlap sacks, and it is awesome.

Megashark vs Giant Octopus is so ridiculously funny, it's awesome. There's a part of the movie where there's a commercial airplane flying over the ocean, and all of a sudden you hear someone yell, and there's a giant shark flying through the air, and it bites the plane in half.

Yup, Valentine's Day....

Nothing much special going on. Hung out with some friends, went to the bars(no I didn't drink at the bars). Came back, slept a bit, and did some homework.

I'm working on building up my music library again, since I upgraded to windows 7, all the music I had stolen from youtube got deleted. So I have to go and get them back.

Ummm... Yeah that's about it for me this weekend.

Just a quick post between classes.

My tower of pop cans is slowly falling apart, it's about half the size it was at the end of last semester, we got pop for the Superbowl though, so maybe it might get built back up.. or maybe not, who knows.

Dante's Inferno came out today, so I need to stop by to pick it up, it looks like it's going to be a really good game, with lots of gore and such :)

Once I get paid this week I have to pay my credit card bill, and be sure not to use it again till it's completely paid off, books this semester were ridiculous, and they kept asking if I wanted to also purchase the "Companion" books, that are optional to go with the class. For some reason the bookstore seems to think that $100 isn't very much fo a book that's optional, and that the professor isn't even going to mention.

Too bad I don't think far enough ahead to order from amazon and such. I'll probably be selling some of my books online or something. I'm keeping all my books about Computer Science though, at least I'll be using those.

It got cold again, so the ceiling isn't leaking so much anymore. Maintenance stopped by earlier. They said there's nothing they can do right now, they can't fix it until all the water is gone. So they're going to put some plastic on the ceiling to try to divert the water into a corner, that way there isn't a bucket in the middle of the room.

There's an ACES event tonight called "Sex Signals" or something like that, the description said something about reading the signs of sex, and some other stuff. I thought it sounded like it could be funny, or easy to be made fun of(one of the two). So Dave, Nick and I are going to go, and get some ACES credit done with.

I gotta be going though. history is my only class this semester where a computer isn't allowed in class, every other class it's required. Oh well, nothing I can do about it I suppose.

My ceiling makes a noise! But I think the bucket in the middle of the floor helps too.

Dave noticed it when he got back after J-Term, there were bubbles forming on the ceiling, and my poster of the Joker fell down, when I looked at it, it had water stains all over the back.

yesterday, I was enjoying some free time after finishing up some homework, and I kept hearing a little noise, and I couldn't quite figure out what it was, until I got up and walked around to look for it.. and stepped in a puddle.

So there's a bucket in the middle of the room, collecting water.

Classes are going good, they're all pretty much computer science classes. Computer Science II, Visual Basic, Interfacing the web.

and I'm taking two gen eds; Computer Apps, and World Civilizations II.

I'm a little tired right now, I'm going to take a nap, do some homework, then go to work.

I'm back, The ACES on Saturday night was really funny. It was a play called "The learned Ladies". Then on Sunday night I went to the Irish Rock Band called "The Prodigals" and they were actually pretty good, not only did they sing songs from their albums, but they also sang a thousand miles by the proclaimers, and ghost rider by Jonny Cash. :)

I need to figure to start going to bed earlier, but I can't help it. I'm a night person, and I have trouble going to bed early. I will have to next semester though, when I have calculus at 8am every morning. :( although all my classes are over at noon.

I dunno, more later. Hopefully.

Hey everyone. Sorry about not posting for forever.

Schools going good, I'm keeping up with my classes. We're making our own version of Pong in Computer Science class, and in Graphic Design we're designing logos. I have my second Math Test Thursday :( lets hope it goes better than the first one.

I'm going home for fall break this weekend. Hopefully I can get whatever is left for my eagle finished.

I'm not going home for Thanksgiving break though (Surprise Mom & Dad!), I'm helping with the outdoor club's trip during Thanksgiving Break. I'm going to Missouri and Kentucky, Spelunking. :)

Basically we're going around in a giant circle stopping at a bunch of caves and wildlife areas, including Mammoth Cave, and since I'm helping plan and carry out this trip, I get to go for free! I am awesome.

That's about all I've got going on, I'll post something later hopefully.

So I got an email yesterday from the business office, saying that they had gone over their files and noticed that they hadn't received my NIACC transcripts. Apparently this has happened to a couple other people besides me, and not just college transcripts, but high school transcripts. WTF! HIGH SCHOOL transcripts! Why after 2 weeks of classes would they just figure out that they're missing? Why me? Especially since I've sent them my transcripts already, and even seen them when I signed up for classes.

I have a job for the fall/spring semesters!!

I called 2Fix* (the IT dept. @ BVU) yesterday, and they said they'd contact me when the move in dates are!

(2Fix requires all new employees to move in at least week early for training)

*Some info about 2Fix:

Basically 2Fix is the dept. that repairs/maintains anything that uses electricity, whether its computers, phones, TVs, or projectors.

They offer around 15 hours a week (but are flexible to your schedule), and possibly even 40 hours during the summer with free rooms.

So after a little messing around I found an easy way to make a high quality ring tone from your Itunes music in just 5 steps.

Here's how you do it:

Step 1.

Get the music.

This step is pretty simple, most likely you already have music you like and it is just waiting to be made into a ring tone.

(Hint: you can also make ring tones straight from your Itunes music, but it is limited to which songs have the option. Also the ring tones are only 30 seconds long and cost 99 cents. I tried one, and it wouldn't work on my phone, so its a waste of money. Don't do it.)

Step 2.

Decrypt your Music.

Itunes is picky, since Apple Co. wants you to buy their Ipods just so you can listen to your music, they encrypt the music so you can't play it on anything else. This is easily corrected by downloading the protected music converter* via this website.

(* you only get a 2 week trial version though)

Step 3.

Convert your music.

Convert your music into Mp3 files using the converter, by selecting add files, then start converting. Its as simple as that!

Step 4.

Make your ring tone.

Go to this site upload your song that you want to make into a ring tone, and edit it*. When you have it how you like it, you can download the ring tone.

(*The only drawback is that you're only allowed the first 3 minutes of the song to choose from, but if you want, you can just make a ring tone that is the whole first 3 minutes of the song, or 3 seconds, your choice.)

Step 5.

Send the ring tone to your phone.

I used blue tooth, but if for some reason you don't have blue tooth on your phone I'm sure you could send it a different way, or not, I dunno.

You can also get ring tones using this website, though I don't think the quality is as good.

I'm going to have to find a better program to make ring tones later...

I got my new laptop this Sunday, finally. So I've been working on getting it personalized to how I like it. I got a cheap wireless mouse so I don't have to use the stupid touch pad, I signed up for my own Itunes account and put all my music on it (almost 24 hrs, I'm getting there :) ) . I got all the programs I like and will use on the start button, and sidebar. Yeah, its all good.

*AlcoholEdu is a 3 hour online course all new students are required to take about the use/effects of alcohol.

I also found a job on campus that pays you even after you fill your work study requirements, its the campus computer tech dept. called 2fix, and they even have job opportunities in the summer, Where you have the chance to work 40 hours a week, and rooms are free! All you have to pay for is food.

I'm probably going to take this job, and depending how much I like the job I might even apply to work during the summer.

I may never come back.

I made it through the graduation ceremony yesterday too. It was just so long! Those hats are really annoying, you can't move your head without them tipping over.

Nothing much is goinjg on with me, just getting ready for my open house, and graduation. I would prefer to get the peice of paper they call a diploma without the ceremony, but I guess thats all taboo.

I got flowers for my family life project. They cost like, $80, and they don't grow back every year like I wanted to get, so I hope you're happy for rushing me dad.

This is so annoying

I can't see through my left eye.

I woke up yesterday morning and my eye was hurting. So I took my contacts out and then after I took a shower I put new ones in. I got something to drink then went to go to school, but by the time I got up to the end of the street, my eye was hurting again, and eye couldn't open it to see where I was going. So I very carefully drove back home, and then went to the eye doctor to see what was wrong. I found out I have a small split on my cornea.

Ouch.

The best part is that, during the checkup, I had to have eye drops (that sting) put in my eye so that I could open them, then I had to have a (really) bright light shone in my eye so that she could see what the problem was. When it was all over I got up to got see about getting some glasses to wear, and I made it for about 3 minutes before I started feeling sick, and then I fainted.

Yeah.. It really sucks only being able to see out of one eye. It kills all sense of depth, and makes anything you try to do hard. I watched a couple of movies, and its kind f confusing when you only have one eye to keep up with the storyline. I got bored in the afternoon and tried to play Call of Duty to see how I could do with one eye. It was a little tough at first (I was dying 3-4 times for every one kill), I kept missing some guys I could have gotten, but I got used to it.

It just sucks that I couldn't work yesterday. But I can just see myself going in there with my left eye closed, and having to explain to everyone that, no I am not winking at you, I am trying to see where I am going.

Hopefully by tomorrow I will be able to put my contact back in again.

I finally fixed the computer so I can listen to Pandora.com without the computer having to think to much. So now I'll be able to work on home work and listen to music at the same time without any problems, I hope.. [fingers crossed].

Apparently I only have one more week to get my online class done, every other teacher gives one extra week for online students, not this one though. I have all the luck. :s

I went on an overnight visit to Buena Vista a couple days ago. It was pretty cool, I like the study abroad programs, and the outdoor club. The only thing that bugs me is the fact that you can't choose between a PC and a Mac laptop, I mean, I really appreciate that they give you free laptops, and update them every two years, but PCs aren't the best for the programs I need to Major in Graphic Design. So either I have to do most of my work in their Mac labs, or I have to buy my own Mac, and have a Notebook for writing papers.

On the plus side, they do give you all the Adobe software for free with the laptops though, so that's OK. I guess I'll figure something out.

Also if I go down there, I will already have a job lined up at the local Fareway in Storm Lake, the only drawback is that its a little ways off campus, but I'll figure something out.

Well.. Mom dictates that I should do some homework today, so I'm going to do some now.

No more holidays.

At least not until the 4^th of July.

Hopefully this means Fareway will slow down a bit until then. I'm tired of customers freaking out whenever holidays come, or if its supposed to rain or something. If you're that worried about it, then why not get your shopping done earlier? Why do it at the last minute?

Random thoughts:

1) I really want to go traveling somwhere. I don't care where, I just want to go.

2) I just saw Charlie the Unicorn 3,, so now we know why his kidney was taken : )

3)I really enjoy playing Call of Duty, I got promoted to Staff Sargeant 2^nd Class today!

4) I find the movie about Moses, that plays on TV every Easter very annoying, and why must my Brothers and Sisters watch it every year?

5) I want to get Fallout 3, and Ice cream. Don't ask me how they go together, but I want them.

Not much is going on here. Just I got a new game, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. and I'm borrowing Fallout 3 from James until I buy it Friday, or next week.

Fallout 3 is pretty fun, its set 200 years after the war in 2077, where everything was bombed, and now there are mutants, and mutated creatures running around, and everybody is struggling to survive. You've been living in a "Vault" for most of your life, so you have no idea whats going on, when your dad leaves for some reason, you have to go search for him [you're banished from the vault for being related to a "traitor"].
Its a sandbox game, which means you can go anywhere on the map, there's no set direction, plus your actions create how the game plays out.

For example:
I got the "Sheriff" of one town killed, so now another guy has threatened to kill me later.

I've pick pocketed some traders and got caught doing it, so we got into a fight, and I killed them with a sledgehammer, I have yet to see the bad points of this yet, seeing as I got all their stuff when they died, including instructions to build rocket launchers and flamethrowers.

Surprisingly I still have pretty good karma after all that, along wit hall the other stuff I steal and get away with. I'm getting better at it too. :P

So interestingly enough, the Conficker worm hasn't really been publicized too much lately. I find it interesting actually, and newsworthy.

Here is my awesome skill as a reporter, digging up information that no one else knows about.

First of all, the top IT Technicians in the world can't seem to stop it. They found away to remove it finally, [by pulling it out of the same hole that it come into, which should have been the first thing they tried, start easy]. Its gotten so bad that Microsoft has put a bounty of $250,000 for whoever can give any information to the deletion of the worm.

It also helps that those top IT Technicians aren't fucusing on getting rid of the problem, only trying to slow it down.

At least we, cut that, I now know what the worms true intentions are. From the rises in stolen information in Asia, the only country that was not able to remove it, it appears that the virus is intent on stealing information, Social Security #s, Bank Account #s, Etc.

I don't know what this means for the French, German, and British militaries though, since the last I heard, they're still infected with it.

Plus, the Worm has been updated, so who knows how many more defense mechanisms have been added. Fun isn't it? : )

I especially enjoy how half the world is completely ignorant of the worm, and the other half thinks its a joke. If it was a joke, then whoever created it wouldn't spend so much time on the code (Go take a look at it, its insane!), and there wouldn't be so many computers getting infected.

Another interesting tidbit is this timeline of the Worm.

Sorry I didn't post this sooner so that you could've seen it but if you noticed, the Youtube website was upside down for April Fools Day. Not like they took the wole page and flipped the whole thing 180 degrees. Only the text, and the videos were upside down, everything else was normal, it was pretty funny.

Also Photobucket.com seemed to have been overrun by pictures of gnomes.. I wonder what that was all about? Hmmm...

I can't wait until the weather warms up. I hate getting up in the mornings when its cold out. Plus when the weather gets warmer I can work on my Family Life Merit Badge [I'm doing a landscaping project for one of the assignments]. Not to mention getting my Eagle Project done.

2. I spends a few more days replicating, making people think it actually was one big April Fool's joke [ If you take a look at the code you'll see that there is no way that this Virus could be a practical joke, waaay too complicated and malicious]

3. After everyone [ Except me :)] has breathed a sigh of relief, the virus recives a second set of instructions to block all use of the internet as it steals all the information from the comuters it has infected all around the world.

3 1/2. Or basically the same thing except without the blocking the internet part.

4. Mass hysteria all around the world.

Yes, actually, the Internet is Infected, and its too late to stop it.

I got the Financial Aide package from BVU, and their tuition is $32,832, They are offering me $30,950 in Scholarships and Loans [$22,750 in Scholarships & Grants, $8,200 in loans].

Which means if I go there I will only have to pay $10,082 for full tuition.

So I just saw on the early show today, [which goes to show you how much I watch the news], that AIG had released their spending they used for the bailout money they had received.

All in all AIG has recieved about $180 Billion in taxpayers dollars.

Here's how they spent it:

Spends $440,000 on a week-long coorporate retreat at the upscale St. Regis Resort in Monarch Beach, CA.
200,000 for hotel rooms
5,016 at "StoneHill tavern"
nearly 7,000 on golf
23,380 on a spa
Etc. Etc.

$50 billion given to banks in other countries including:
Germany’s Deutsche Bank AG
France’s Société Générale SA
the Royal Bank of Scotland
British HSBC Holdings PLC

and finally, $1.2 Billion of the bailout money that came from taxpayers dollars was used to pay AIG employees “retention payments” and bonuses.

Bonuses!?!

These are the same employees who made the mess in the first place! and we're taking money from the working people to reward them for it!?!

Seriously, and I have to inherit this bvllsh!t. If this is how its going to be I 'm seceding from the government and writing my own Declaration of Independence, because this sh!t don't fly.

Yesterday I learned how to write orders at Fareway. Its not too hard, especially since my order is pet foods, not much to get for that except for the 20 lb bags. Its a start though, hopefully later I'll get something bigger to order.

Philomena is still sick with pnuemonia, she is slowly getting better though. Hopefully she'll be out of the hospital this week.

I'm playing the first Halo, and its actually pretty fun, if you can get past the old origional Xbox style graphics. Every time I play it though, I just keep thinking of Red Vs Blue, its pretty funny.

I just got done working this morning, and the cold truck was late.

Usually the cold truck is there by 6am but after 6:15 we started wondering where it was. Finally we found out..

..The truck driver went the wrong way..

..and got lost.

He finally showed up at 8 and by that time we had about a pallet and a half left of truck to do and Alex and I ( we were the only part-timers who showed up this morning) had left/leaving.

Oh well.. I'm really tired so I think I'll take a nap soon.

BVU Scholarship

I just got a call From Buena Vista and found out that I won the Dean's Fellowship Award and the Art/Graphic Design Scholarship!!

The Dean's Fellowship Award gives me $2,000 traveling money, which means if I want to go anywhere I have monew to pay for the trip, if the cost to go on the trip is less than $2,000 than the only money I'd need would be spending mony. As a bonus it also comes with $500 for my Junior and Senior year.

The Art/Graphic Design Scholarship is only $500, but its for every year, plus since I'm going into Graphic Design as a major its really cool that I won this award.

Add them together and I got $2,000 for travel, and $500 the first two years, and $1,000 the last two years.

How great is that!

Yay me!

State Championships here we come!!

The Boys Basketball team won the game monday ( two days ago), which means that we have a shot at State! We got 38 people going in the Pep Band so its going to be Rockin'!!

Plus, we get to eat lunch at Hickory Park, hows that for a bonus? : p

Today we got the new marching snares and the stands for them, the bass drums and quads are supposed to come tomorrow, so this friday I'm going to be spending the whole band time getting them all ready to play, oh yeah!

On a good note though, I got two new Red vs Blue videos that were made to "give a tour" of Xbox and Halo 3.

So today school got cancelled, I don't really get why. Sure the weather wasn't great this morning. but it cleared up really fast, plus it wouldn't have made any effect on anyone if they were in school.
We're celebrating my sister's birthday today, it was actuall yesterday but Mom and Dad didn't have any presents yet.

Yesterday I started playing Call of Duty: World at War, its a really fun game. I haven't really played to many 1^st person shooters, but this one has turned out to be pretty cool. I really like how the main character changes every so often, keeps it fresh, and the AI characters call out your name to help.

Tomorrow, I've got a Dentist appointment. Bleh, I really hate having people stabbing at the inside of my mouth, I guess its kind of that basic instint not to want anything sharp where your vulnerable, but still I haven't had very many "good" experiences with Dentists in the past. Mostly just them pulling out teeth without giving me novacaine, or stabbing me in the gums and telling me not to move when my head automatically jerks in response to the pain.
I suppose its not too much fun for them to have to look inside peoples mouths everyday, but still, if its really that bad choose a different profession.

So I just finished making a walkthrough for the MMORPG "A Tale in the Desert" and it was the most boring, lamest, thing I've ever done. I can't believe that anyone would want to make walkthroughs in their spare time for any game.
